The truth, however, is that scuba diving is one of the safest of conventional sports. Incidence of injuries is far less likely to occur during Cancun scuba diving. More importantly, is that you must have undergone training to be a safe driver to be able to carry on Cancun scuba diving.

They are some tips that are essential for ensuring diving safety. It is important to abide by the rules so that there will be no casualties, and this will ensure that your diving is smooth.

Plan Your Dive

It
is important to always plan your dive before engaging on Cancun scuba diving so
that you can remain safe all through. Be sure of the location of the dive, the
route of the dive and the current of the dive sites. Make sure you have a
discussion with your diving instructor on the eventualities that might occur
and how to take care of the situation.

Dive within your limit

Diving
is meant to be a fun experience and exposure to a beautiful marine life. In any
situation where you begin to get uncomfortable or unhappy with the diving, make
sure to stop the diving. You can even decide to cancel the dive if you are
unsure of any situation being introduced by your dive buddy. Do not undertake any diving because every other person is doing
it. Be sure to know your physical and mental strength and stay within that
zone.

Stay alert and conscious

It is very easy to be carried away with the beauty of marine life, especially the Cancun underwater museum. While diving is meant to be a fun activity, you have to be alert and make sure you don’t put yourself in harm’s way. As much as possible, help yourself conserve energy and air during your snorkelling. Make sure you do not take substances that can affect your senses before diving. Examples of such substances include alcohol or other intoxicants. While it may be fun being at the Riviera resort, be careful not to get tired before carrying out the Cancun scuba diving.

Check your equipment

It is essential to carry on diving with complete and functional equipment. Visit the dive store to purchase everything that is missing. To remember, you can use the words Burgers With Relish and Fries, which simply stands for B – BCD, W – weight, R – regulator, and F – final checks. Also, make sure your diving gear has been serviced. This is very important so that fun does not turn to pain.

CONCLUSION

In
conclusion, it is important to exercise these safety tips so that you can have
fun and relaxation maximally. Snorkelling and scuba diving in Cancun is not dangerous,
but everybody should exercise these safety tips.

By www.scubadivingcancun.com

The post SAFETY TIPS FOR SCUBA DIVING CANCUN appeared first on Scuba Diving Cancun.

The History Of Diving

History was probably a boring class for you as it was for me back in elementary school, but when it comes to scuba diving, that´s a different story.

Men’s quest for techniques and devices that could allow us to stay underwater for long periods of time goes as far as 500 B.C. when breath-holding was attempted in old Persia by Scyllis the Greek as part of a military tactic, when Scyllis breathed underwater through a primitive snorkel to run away from his enemies that took him prisoner. He also managed to sabotage his enemies’ ships using the same technique. After that, the list of attempts made by men to achieve the same goal is long.

Let´s remember some of the most relevant to mankind: In 1650 Von Guericke invented the first effective air pump, that Boyle himself used for his experiments on compression and decompression, which are very useful on modern scuba diving.

In 1690 Edmund Halley patented a diving bell which is connected by a pipe to weighted barrels of air that can be refilled from the surface.

In 1776 the history records the first attack by a military submarine. On 1825 William James invented the first workable full-time SCUBA (self contained underwater breathing apparatus). In 1912 the tables developed and tested by the U.S. Navy were published by Boycott, Damant and Haldane. In 1943 the aqua-long is invented by Jacques Cousteau and Emil Gagnan. In 1959, the YMCA pioneers the first nationally organized scuba course for certification. In 1960, after accident numbers grew among scuba-divers, the first national training agencies are formed. In 1966 PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) is created and trains 3226 divers in its first year of operation.

Nowadays, PADI remains as the lead institution in the world that standardized the proceedings and techniques to train divers properly.

Boyle´s Law

If you are thinking seriously on scubadiving you should understand Boyle´s law, and the reason for it is because this law of physics will affect your dives… and you.

Why don´t we start by stating the law? At constant temperature, the volume of a gas varies inversely with pressure, while the density of a gas varies directly with pressure. What this means is: Air cavities in your body -like sinuses and ears- and the ones in your diving gear -eg.; the BCD (buoyancy control device)- will be affected on it´s volume and density as depth changes.

When the depth increases the sorounding pressure too, air volume decreases and its density increases. On the contrary, when depth decreases the pressure does too, so volume increases and density decreases.

But, how in the world this does affect you?:

During descend, unless you equalize the pressure from outside with the inner pressure in your ear, it’s going to hurt! You achieve pressure equalization by sending air into the middle ear as you descend but be sure to make this before discomfort is felt.

In order to control your buoyancy -flotation- along the dive, you must adjust your BCD -buoyancy control device- volume according to depth changes -don’t worry, we train you to do this easily-. For example, during your ascend, you have to deflate the BCD from time to time in order to release the expanding air from it, to mantain control of your buoyancy.

This are just two examples of how does the Boyle´s law affect your dive and your body.
